Megatone Records was an independent music label specializing in disco and created in San Francisco in 1981 by Patrick Cowley and Marty Blecman. The name was derived from Patrick Cowley's " Megatron Man ". After Patrick Cowley's death (November 12, 1982), Marty Blecman was head of the label until he died of AIDS in 1991.

Megatone Records est un label musical indépendant créé à San Francisco en 1981 par Patrick Cowley et Marty Blecman. Il a eu une place importante sur la scène dance avec la sortie de "Megatron Man" de Patrick Cowley. À la mort de ce dernier Marty fut à la tête de ce label jusqu'à ce qu'il meure du sida en 1991.
Cowley remained close to the San Francisco club scene and eventually joined forces with producer Marty Blecman to form Megatone Records in the summer of 1981. Under auspices of their partnership Cowley created a successful dance-oriented 12" single that opened the doors for his award-winning " Megatron Man " LP.
