After composing the score for the Disney+ series Loki in 2021, an online petition on Twitter called for Natalie Holt to be hired to compose a Star Wars score. On April 22, 2022, Holt was confirmed to be the composer for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Holt is the first woman to compose the score for a live-action Star Wars project.
