Moroccan agricultural production also consists of orange, tomatoes, potatoes, olives, and olive oil. High quality agricultural products are usually exported to Europe. Morocco produces enough food for domestic consumption except for grains, sugar, coffee and tea.
Basé sur les résultats de la phase préliminaire (07/2005 – 03/2008), Urban Agriculture Casablanca est un projet de recherche et de développement d’une durée de cinq ans (04/2008 – 03/2013). L’agriculture urbaine se comprend comme toute forme de production agricole, formelle ou informelle, au sein d’une ville.
„Urban Agriculture for Growing City Regions“ takes the example of Casablanca, one of the fastest growing cities in North Africa, to investigate this approach. The creation of synergies between the urban and rural in an emerging megacity is demonstrated through pilot projects, design solutions, and multifunctional modules.
