Parlet was a female spinoff group from P-Funk formed by veteran background vocalists Mallia Franklin, Jeanette Washington and Debbie Wright. Washington and Wright were the first female members in Parliament-Funkadelic in 1975.
And we are sad to inform SoulTrackers of the death at age 66 of a key member of the P-world, Debbie Wright. Wright was a key background singer on many of the biggest albums of the era, as well as a founding member of the P-Funk related female vocal group Parlet.

16. Okt. 2017 · US soul sources are reporting the death, at age 66, of “space cadet” DEBBIE WRIGHT. Followers of the Clinton/P Funk/Funkadelic circus will recognize Debbie as a member of Parlet, the collective’s girl group. With Mallia Franklin and Jeanette Washington, Debbie joined P Funk in 1975, morphing into Parlet in 1978.
