Havens, playing at Woodstock Music Festival 1969. Havens's live performances earned widespread notice. His opening 1969 appearance at Woodstock in a trio with Paul "Deano" Williams on guitar and singing backing vocals and Daniel Ben Zebulon on percussion catapulted him into stardom and was a major turning point in his career. [1] .
7. Okt. 2023 · Richie Havens was underrated in his day. I couldn't go to Woodstock, and still wish I could go back in time to experience it. I wore out at least one concert album set. I seem to remember Havens was the first performer at Woodstock, but I could be wrong.
