Sir Harry Donald Secombe CBE (8 September 1921 – 11 April 2001) was a Welsh actor, comedian, singer and television presenter. Secombe was a member of the British radio comedy programme The Goon Show (1951–1960), playing many characters, most notably Neddie Seagoon.

3. Sept. 2021 · On Wednesday 8 September 2021 the National Library will be celebrating the centenary of the birth of Welsh comedian, actor, singer and television presenter Harry Secombe who was born in Swansea on the 8 September 1921.
16 Photos. Harry Secombe was one of Britain's best loved comic entertainers. Born in Swansea, South Wales he began singing as a child in local church choirs. His first job was as a clerk although he had considered a career in opera. During World War Two he served in the Army in North Africa and Italy.
