The Herd were an English rock band, founded in 1965. In 1966, 16-year-old Peter Frampton joined as lead singer and guitarist. The band had three UK top twenty hits in the late 1960s, including "From the Underworld" and "I Don't Want Our Loving to Die", before Frampton left in 1968 to form Humble Pie with Steve Marriott.

Judas Jump was established in 1969 as a heavy progressive rock band. They used mellotron, woodwind and brass in their sound, and secured a recording contract with Parlophone. The band included keyboardist Andy Bown, and drummer Henry Spinetti, who had earlier worked with the English rock band the Herd, alongside Peter Frampton.
Henry Anthony George Spinetti (born 31 March 1951) is a Welsh session drummer whose playing has featured on a large number of prominent rock and pop albums. He is the younger brother of actor Victor Spinetti (1929–2012).
