29. Apr. 2024 · Unabashedly British and irresistibly swaggering, Bad Company personified ’70s arena rock. Detractors denounced them as machismo, but fans have bought more than 40 million albums, 20 million in America alone. Guitarist/founder Mick Ralphs was a prime role model for numerous players.
The sessions for these new tracks marked the first time the original members had played together since 1981. And in honor of its latest release, the reunited Bad Company toured this summer. Ralphs spoke with VG about the making of Anthology and his hopes for the future of Bad Company. Vintage Guitar: What inspired the Anthology album and reunion?
Bad Company have announced the unfortunate news that their guitarist Mick Ralphs has suffered a stroke. A band spokesmen has said that the 72-year-old, who was a key figure in both Mot The Hoople and Bad Company, is now recovering in hospital.
Guitarist Mick Ralphs, whose pulverizing riffs were first heard in the late ’60s in the original Mott the Hoople, has charged back into the limelight. Mott was a ferocious quintet, and one of the most highly-underrated bands of that era.
