Plastic Penny were a British 1960s pop band, formed in November 1967 before splitting up in August 1969. The group had one hit single early in 1968: the song "Everything I Am". Most of the members went on to greater fame with other bands or in session work.

Plastic Penny was a British psychedelic rock band active in the late 60s. Their single "Everything I Am" (a cover of Box Tops' tune) charted in 1967, but they never managed another hit. They released two LPs Two Sides of a Penny (1968) and Currency (1969) and a few singles before breaking up.
Plastic Penny formed in November 1967. Much of their material was psychedelic pop (with hints of encroaching prog rock), often reminiscent of The Who, The Zombies and The Kinks, with gravel-throated lead vocalist Brian Keith superbly complemented by the wonderful harmonies of the band.
The members of Plastic Penny were Brian Keith (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), Mick Graham (guitar), Nigel Olsson (drums), and Tony Murray (bass). The band’s primary writers were Keith, Paul, and Murray. Keith soon left the band and Raymond took over as vocalist.
