- About Us
Rugby School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding school for pupils aged 13–18) in Rugby, Warwickshire, England. Founded in 1567 as a free grammar school for local boys, it is one of the oldest independent schools in Britain. Up to 1667, the school remained in comparative obscurity.
What is Rugby School like? One of the oldest independent schools in the country, Rugby School needs little introduction as one of the most globally renowned heritage British boarding schools.
Rugby enjoys an outstanding reputation for sport, music, drama, art and extra-curricular activities. Rugby’s historic House system lies at the heart of its reputation for exceptional pastoral care. Rugbeians are educated under the care of their Housemaster or Housemistress.
