Eric M. Bazilian (born July 21, 1953) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and producer. Bazilian is a founding member of the rock band The Hooters. He wrote "One of Us", a song first recorded by Joan Osborne in 1995.
ABout me. The son of a classical pianist and a psychiatrist, I first saw the light on February 9, 1964, when the Beatles played on The Ed Sullivan Show. The next day I formed my first band, The Limestones, with whom I performed on Philadelphia’s ‘The Gene London Show’.
The Hooters were formed by Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian in 1980 and played their first show on July 4 of that year. They took their name from a nickname for the melodica, a type of keyboard harmonica.
