Amon G. Carter Stadium is an open-air football stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. It is the home stadium of the TCU Horned Frogs football team . It is named after Amon G. Carter , a prominent Fort Worth businessman, newspaper publisher, and city booster.
16. Nov. 2010 · Amon G. Carter Stadium opened on Oct. 11, 1930 with a 40-0 win over Arkansas in front of a then-capacity crowd of 22,000 fans. The stadium closed with another capacity crowd, this time of 45,694, who watched the Frogs beat San Diego State 40-35.

19. Juli 2023 · That’s when Amon Carter Stadium first started stealing the show. Back then, it was called just “TCU Stadium,” but in 1930, it was renamed after Amon G. Carter, a local publisher who had been lobbying for a major bowl game in Texas and didn’t mind writing a check or two to make it happen.
13. Juli 2018 · With Amon G. Carter Stadium at capacity of 22,000, the Frogs defeated the Razorbacks soundly by a 40-0 count, which marked a crowning achievement and the perfect dedicatory battle. Over the next two decades, several expansions of Amon G. Carter Stadium began to take shape from the end zone to the east grandstand areas.
When the Horned Frogs faithful began to overflow the stands at the team’s home field, Clark Field, the TCU Board of Trustees realized that a new stadium was necessary. Riding momentum from the team’s first Southwest Conference title, a football stadium began to take shape in 1929.
1929– Amon G. Carter Stadium is constructed with a seating capacity of 22,000. 1930– First game played. Frogs win (of course) over Arkansas, 40-0. 1935– The so-called “Game of the Century” pitted the 10-0 Mustangs versus the 10-0 Frogs with a Rose Bowl bid at stake.
