The Rascals (initially known as the Young Rascals) are an American rock band, formed in Garfield, New Jersey, United States, in 1965.
Released: February 21, 1966. The Young Rascals is the debut album by the American rock band the Young Rascals. The album was released on March 28, 1966, and rose to No. 15 on the Billboard Top LPs chart and No. 10 in Cashbox .
"Good Lovin '" rose to the top of the Billboard Pop Singles chart in the spring of 1966 and represented the Young Rascals' first real hit. "Good Lovin ' " is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll , and was ranked #333 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. [4]
The Rascals ' discography is diverse, with numerous compilations. Their early—and primary—output was all recorded on Atlantic Records and produced with Arif Mardin. After the band left Atlantic in 1971, they recorded two albums for Columbia with various line-ups other than the original four members of the group.
