Hlumelo Biko (born 19 January 1978) is a South African businessman and investment banker. He is the son of Steve Biko and Mamphela Ramphele.
Steve Biko heiratete 1970 Nontsikelelo (Ntsiki) Mashalaba aus Umtata, mit der er zwei Kinder hatte. Zwei weitere Kinder hatte er mit der Aktivistin Mamphela Ramphele, darunter den 1978 geborenen Hlumelo Biko, der heute ein bekannter Unternehmer ist. Bantu Stephen Biko OMSG (18 December 1946 – 12 September 1977) was a South African anti-apartheid activist. Ideologically an African nationalist and African socialist, he was at the forefront of a grassroots anti-apartheid campaign known as the Black Consciousness Movement during the late 1960s and 1970s.
2. März 2022 · Hlumelo Biko is the son of Steve Biko and Mamphela Ramphele, and the author of a book that recounts his parents' love story and the founding of the Black Consciousness Movement. He is also an entrepreneur and a philanthropist who lives in Cape Town.
Biko and Ramphele had two children during their affair; Lerato Biko, born in 1974, and Hlumelo Biko, born in 1978. Lerato contracted fatal pneumonia when she was two months old. [7] Their son Hlumelo Biko was born after Biko's death. [8]
