  2. 1759-1828. Biography. Born as Duchess Sophie Marie Dorothea Auguste Louis of Württemberg, daughter of Friedrich II Eugen, Duke of Württemberg, known as Sophia Dorothea. Changed name to Maria Feodorovna on her marriage to Grand Duke Paul, later Tsar Paul I of Russia in 1776.
