The collective Chto Delat (What is to be done?) was founded in early 2003 in Petersburg by a workgroup of artists, critics, philosophers, and writers from St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Nizhny Novgorod with the goal of merging political theory, art, and activism.
Chto Delat sees itself as a self-organized platform for a variety of cultural activities intent on politicizing “knowledge production” through redefinitions of an engaged autonomy for cultural practice today. The array of activities is coordinated by a core group including following members:

Educational Models. The School of Emergency. The School of Emergencies initiated by collective Chto Delat is a transdisciplinary school for artists, writers, researchers and activists.
Since 2003, the collective Chto Delat has been publishing an eponymous newspaper. Most of newspapers are fully bilingual (English/Russian).

From 2017 we have registered NGO Chto Delat e.V. not for profit organization in Berlin and has been receiving an institutional grant from Foundation for Arts Initiatives from 2017 -2019 and redistribute this money through our Mutual Aid Fund supporting different activities.
