YMCA. Germany. The ‘Young Mens Association of Rhineland-Westphalia’ was founded in Elberfeld in 1848, marking the first regional union. In 1882, the German Associations of Young Men held a significant gathering. The National Council of YMCAs in Germany evolved from this event. In 1883, the YMCA Berlin was established.
