The thirty-seventh windstorm of the 2022–23 European windstorm season, Poly was named by the Free University of Berlin on July 4. It later became the most intense summer storm to impact the Netherlands, bringing destructive gusts to the nation, peaking at 91 mph in IJmuiden, Netherlands.

The 2023–2024 European windstorm season is the ninth and current season of the European windstorm naming in Europe. The new season's storm names were announced on 1 September 2023. Storms that occur up until 31 August 2024 will be included in this season.
20. Juli 2023 · Historically, the UK Met Office has recorded an average of 4.5 named European extratropical events per year since the naming convention was introduced in 2016. However, the 2022/2023 season stood out with only one storm (Otto) named by the Danish Meteorological Institute in February 2023.
