William Elmer Booth (December 9, 1882 – June 16, 1915) was an American stage and film actor. He was born in Los Angeles, California and was the elder brother of Margaret Booth, a renowned film editor for Hollywood productions for nearly 70 years.

Siegmann, and actor Elmer Booth (pictured) were returning from a night of partying at a California roadhouse known as the Vernon Country Club. Their vehicle, driven by a drunk Tod Browning, collided with a railway car loaded with steel rails.

Another actor, Elmer Booth, was a passenger as well in Browning's car. Booth died instantly, and Siegmann suffered four broken ribs, a deeply lacerated thigh, and internal injuries. Browning was badly injured too, including a shattered right leg and the loss of his front teeth. Siegmann married at least twice.
