Am 2. Februar 2008 heiratete er im Alter von 85 Jahren seine langjährige Lebensgefährtin Peggy Crosby, nachdem Somers am 15. September 2007 verstorben war. Jack Klugman verstarb am 24. Dezember 2012 im Alter von 90 Jahren.
Klugman died at the age of 90 in Woodland Hills, California from prostate cancer, on December 24, 2012. The New York Times referred to him and actor Charles Durning, who died the same day, as “extraordinary actors ennobling the ordinary”. The Huffington Post compared the two men, calling them “character actor titans”.
Jack Klugman, the actor who played Oscar Madison and Quincy, M.E., died of prostate cancer in 2012. His grave is at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
