Basierend auf realen Ereignissen erzählt Hun Jang in seinem Film „A Taxi Driver“ von dem deutschen Journalisten Jürgen Hinzpeter, der 1980 mithilfe eines südkoreanischen Taxifahrers Licht ins Dunkel um die Gerüchte über einen Aufstand in Gwangju brachte, der wenige Tage später brutal niedergeschlagen wurde.
