Das soziale Netzwerk Bluesky Social gibt es bereits seit 2021. Doch erst seit 2023 erfährt die Plattform einen regelrechten Hype. Mittlerweile ist die App frei verfügbar, Sie können sich auch ohne Einladungs-Code registrieren.
Bluesky Social oder kurz Bluesky ist als App und Browser-Version verfügbar. Das Logo - weiße Wolken vor einem blauen Himmel - erinnert farblich an das frühere Twitter-Icon. Zur App:
Und auch vom Aufbau her soll Bluesky stark an den Kurznachrichtendienst angelehnt sein. Der Fokus liegt auf den Texten, also kurze Postings, die maximal 256 Zeichen enthalten dürfen und online miteinander geteilt werden. Aber auch Fotos können auf Bluesky gepostet werden.
Wie bei X auch hat jeder User und jede Userin ein eigenes Profil mit einem Bild, einer Kurzbeschreibung und einem Handle. Likes, Kommentare und Shares von Beiträgen sind möglich. Was bislang fehlt, sind Hashtags, nach denen Nutzende Beiträge filtern können. Auch Direktnachrichten stehen bislang nicht zu Verfügung.
Die Macher von Bluesky sind keine Unbekannten. Ursprünglich war die Plattform nämlich sogar bei Twitter integriert, doch seit 2022 agiert sie komplett unabhängig.

Beide setzen auf einen dezentralen Ansatz. Das bedeutet, Nutzerinnen und Nutzer registrieren sich über viele kleine Server und müssen sich nicht einem zentral gesteuerten Algorithmus unterwerfen. Sogar der Quellcode der Plattform kann eingesehen und verändert werden.
