Gérald Cyprien Lacroix ISPX (French pronunciation:; born July 27, 1957) is a Canadian Catholic prelate who has served as the Archbishop of Quebec and Primate of Canada since his appointment by Pope Benedict XVI on 22 February 2011. He has been a cardinal since 22 February 2014.
On 7 March 2023 the Holy Father Francis, having to renew the Council of Cardinals upon the expiry of the mandate of the preceding one, has appointed Cardinal Lacroix as member of the new Council. Member of: Council for the Economy; Council of Cardinals.
He is the 25th Bishop and the 15th Archbishop of Quebec. Pope Francis designated him a Cardinal on January 12, 2014, the 8th Cardinal of the Archdiocese of Quebec.
