Catherine Margaret Ashton, Baroness Ashton of Upholland, LG, GCMG, PC (born 20 March 1956) is a British Labour politician who served as the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and First Vice President of the European Commission in the Barroso Commission from 2009 to 2014.
Catherine Margaret Ashton, Baroness Ashton of Upholland, LG, GCMG (* 20. März 1956 in Upholland, Lancashire) ist eine britische Politikerin ( Labour Party ). Von 2009 bis 2014 war sie Hohe Vertreterin der EU für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik und Erste Vizepräsidentin der Europäischen Kommission.
Dem neuen Kollegium gehören sieben Vizepräsidenten an, einschließlich Vizepräsidentin Baroness Catherine Ashton, die nach Inkrafttreten des Vertrags von Lissabon am 1. Dezember gleichzeitig Hohe Vertreterin der Europäischen Union für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik wird. Drei Vizepräsidenten sind Frauen.
