Featuring some of his most recognised masterpieces, many of which were created in the Pacific region, the exhibition offers new perspectives on Gauguin’s life and work, his artistic influences and networks, as well as his historical impact and contemporary legacies.
4. Apr. 2024 · From 29 June – 7 October 2024, visitors can experience the largest exhibition of Gauguin’s work ever to be presented in Australia. Featuring over 130 works, the exhibition has been curated by Henri Loyrette, formerly director of the Musée d’Orsay and president-director of the Musée du Louvre.

This was the most important exhibition in France about the artist since the celebration of the centennary of Gauguin's birth organised in the Orangerie des Tuileries in 1949. The aim of this exhibition was to show and to study Gauguin 's work as a whole, including all the techniques.
26. März 2022 · Against the backdrop of historical influences and postcolonial debates, the exhibition interrogates Gauguin’s self-created myth of the “savage artist”. Gauguin made recourse to a colonialist dream of an earthly paradise, but at the same time managed to articulate a completely novel artistic vision.
