Outlaw Blues is a 1977 American drama film directed by Richard T. Heffron and starring Peter Fonda and Susan Saint James. Written by Bill L. Norton, the film is about an ex-convict and songwriter trying to break into the music business in Austin, Texas.
Peter Fonda stars as Bobby Ogden, an ex-convict who sings his song Outlaw Blues for country star Garland Dupree, who steals it and becomes a hit. Bobby is released from prison and tries to confront Garland, with the help of his backup singer Tina Waters (Susan Saint James).
