A life-sized bronze statue was sculpted by Jules Dalou to mark his grave, portrayed in a realistic style as though he had just fallen on the street, dropping his hat which is depicted beside him. The sculpture has a very noticeable protuberance in Noir's trousers.
Victor Noir was a journalist who was shot by Napoleon's cousin in 19th century France. His grave in Père-Lachaise Cemetery has a provocative statue that attracts many women who believe it can bring them fertility and happiness.

He was shot and killed by Prince Pierre Bonaparte, the cousin of Emperor Napoleon III, which led to more of public opposition to the imperial regime.

14. Juli 2020 · The grave of Victor Noir is one of the most unusual resting places in Paris’ Père Lachaise Cemetery. The effigy of Noir is lying on his back, and while normally a greenish-bronze, he has a brightly polished crotch and lips from frequent rubbing.
