Montreux (Aussprache [mɔ̃.tʁø]) ist eine Stadt und eine politische Gemeinde im Bezirk Riviera-Pays-d’Enhaut des Kantons Waadt in der Schweiz. Der frühere deutsche Name Muchtern wird heute nicht mehr verwendet. Die Stadt liegt am Genfersee im Schutz von 2000 Meter hohen Berggipfeln.
