Adapazarı (pronounced [adapaˈzaɾɯ]) is a municipality and the capital district of Sakarya Province, Turkey. Its area is 324 km 2, and its population is 281,489 (2022). It covers the central and northern part of the agglomeration of Adapazarı and the adjacent countryside.
Sakarya ist eine Provinz der Türkei. Ihre Hauptstadt ist Adapazarı. Ihren Namen trägt sie nach dem Fluss Sakarya, dem antiken Sangarius. Die Provinz hat über eine Million Einwohner (Stand 2020) auf einer Fläche von 4.823 km². Sie grenzt an die Provinzen Düzce, Bolu, Bilecik, Kocaeli und Bursa.

Adapazarı is a city in the Eastern Marmara region of Turkey, 160 km east of Istanbul, and with a population in 2020 of 279,127. It's the chief city of a metropolis of just over a million population, which until 2000 was likewise named Adapazarı, but is now called Sakarya.
