John E. Carter (June 2, 1934 – August 21, 2009) was an American doo-wop and R&B singer. He was a founding member of The Flamingos and a member of The Dells. Both groups have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, making Carter one of the few multiple inductees.

2. Nov. 2009 · Johnny Carter was a doo-wop and R&B singer who was inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his groups, the Flamingos and the Dells. He had a multi-octave range and sang on hits such as "Stay in My Corner", "Oh, What a Night" and "I Can Sing a Rainbow".
