The East Greenwich Academy (originally known as Kent Academy) was a private Methodist boarding school in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, USA that was in existence from 1802 until 1943.

It was a private boarding high school in East Greenwich. In 1802, Ethan Clarke, William Arnold, Richard Matthewson, Earle Mowry, Peter Turner, Ray Greene, Elihu Greene, and Christopher Greene built the East Greenwich Academy. It was the only high school at that time.

Central Crossing is the most recent high school to be built in the district. It first opened its doors for the 2002-03 academic year. The mascot for Central Crossing is the Comet, and its official colors are royal blue and silver. The school's motto is "Excelling in Excellence".
The science center became a project of Don and Sue Carcieri in 1999 when they saved the historic Olney House from demolition. The structure had previously been a dormitory for the East Greenwich Academy, which was founded in 1802 and was often referred to as "the heart of East Greenwich."
