Australian Theatre for Young People ( ATYP) is a not-for-profit national youth theatre company located in Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 1963 by Eleanor Witcombe.
To enrich the lives of young Australians through transformative theatre experiences. We do this through three aspirations: ATYP continues to be guided by four long-term strategies. These provide the holistic thinking that sit across all company activities and discussions. They are: National Impact.

Welcome to 2024 at ATYP. This year we continue bringing fully professional youth theatre productions to Sydney’s doorstep for watch with your friends, family, grandparents, or all of the above. However, rather than launching a season, we are releasing our major productions one event at a time.
We seek out the best new work from around the world and commission and develop new productions that speak specifically to young Australians. The ATYP On Demand platform gives young people and educators around Australia the opportunity to be inspired by the extraordinary talent of young artists.
