He graduated in 1981 from The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre where he studied with Sanford Meisner, Richard Pinter and Ron Stetson. Mr. Kingston was later trained by Mr. Meisner to be a teacher and has been a senior member of the acting faculty of The Neighborhood Playhouse for over 20 years. The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre is a non-profit, tax-exempt school of training for actors, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). The bronze plaque containing excerpts from the Proclamation presented to The Neighborhood Playhouse by the New York City Council, which hangs permanently on the façade of the building.
