Edward John Stanley, 6th Baron Sheffield, 6th Baron Stanley of Alderley, and 5th Baron Eddisbury (October 9, 1907 – March 3, 1971), was a British peer. He was the son of the Arthur Stanley, 5th Baron Stanley of Alderley (1875–1931) and Margaret Evelyn Gordon (1875–1964). He was educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford.
Stanley was the son of Sir John Thomas Stanley FRSE (1735–1827), 6th Baronet and elder brother of Edward Stanley, the Bishop of Norwich. He succeeded in the baronetcy and to the family seat at Alderley Park in Cheshire on his father's death in 1807. This branch of the Stanley family descended from the Hon. When the 1st Baron died in 1850, he was succeeded as 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley and 8th Baronet of Alderley Hall by his son Edward, who was a prominent Liberal politician and notably served as President of the Board of Trade, Postmaster General and had in 1848 been created Baron Eddisbury, of Winnington in the County Palatine of Chester, in his own right.
He died in 1931, and was succeeded by his son Edward John, sixth Lord Stanley of Alderley. In 1938 he sold the Alderley Park estate, which had been in the family for over 500 years for half a million pounds to Mr. Crundall of London.
