Originally from Yaoundé, Cameroon, André Manga is a songwriter, arranger and bass guitar virtuoso developing jazz-fusion and Afro-jazz marked by Cameroonian sounds, including bikutsi and makossa. At the age of 7, he made his first musical instrument, a pseudo-marimba (xylophone) made from tree trunk and bamboo. He later designed a guitar with strings made from bicycle brake cables.
