The admission rate for that exclusive program is likely going to be somewhere in the range of 2-6%. 4% is what we have most often heard.

If he likes NC School of the Arts, then he will very much enjoy UNCW, which is consistently rated as one of the top film schools in the nation. 10 minutes from the beach, medium-sized school, GORGEOUS campus, FANTASTIC community.

NYU/Tisch and USC film programs have lower acceptance rates than Harvard or Stanford, and stats do not play as large a role as the portfolio review does. If finances are not a huge concern, then Columbia College Chicago is an absolute safety.
