The British television historian and presenter Dan Snow is a great-great-grandson through his mother, Canadian-born Ann MacMillan (married Peter Snow ), a long-time CBC reporter based in London and sister of Margaret MacMillan.

He was brought up in Llanystumdwy and later served as Liberal MP for Caernarfon, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and as Prime Minister from 1916 to 1922.
