  1. Daniel Wolsey Voorhees was born on September 26, 1827, in Liberty Township, Butler County, Ohio. His family moved to Indiana while he was still a child. In 1849, he graduated from Indiana Asbury (DePauw) University. Voorhees then studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1851. He began practicing law in Covington, Indiana.

  5. Description. Daniel W. Voorhees is a plaster sculpture that has been painted white. The bust measures 31 inches (79 cm) by 27 inches (69 cm) by 18 inches (46 cm). Voorhees gazes slightly upward to his proper left, and his proper right eyebrow is raised. His hair is combed away from a side part on the proper left of his scalp.
