Pascual Jordan trug zusammen mit seinem Lehrer Max Born wesentlich zur Ausgestaltung der Heisenbergsche Matrizenmechanik bei und lieferte insbesondere einen Beweis für die Richtigkeit der von Born angegebenen Vertauchungsrelation.
