Paul Newell Hester (8 January 1959 – 26 March 2005) was an Australian musician and television personality. He is best known as the drummer for the rock bands Split Enz and Crowded House. He last performed with Crowded House in 1996. He later worked on television and radio. He was born in Melbourne, Victoria.
8. Mai 2016 · After a long battle with depression, Hester has taken his life by hanging himself from a tree in a park near his home. He was 46, and leaves behind his two daughters, aged 5 and 10, and his ex-partner, photographer Mardi Somerfeld. Hester took his two dogs for a walk late on Friday night, and was found dead in the park about 1pm on Saturday.

Hester performed as a musician on Toot Toot! , the North American reissue of Yummy Yummy , and Let's Wiggle and made a guest appearance in the Yummy Yummy video as Paul the Cook .
