I Daft Punk sono stati un gruppo musicale francese di musica elettronica fondato dai parigini Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo e Thomas Bangalter.. Il nome del duo deriva da una recensione del primo lavoro del gruppo in cui militavano, i Darlin', apparsa sulla rivista britannica Melody Maker, in cui erano stati definiti «un gruppetto di stupidi teppisti» («a daft punky trash»).
