Biografie. Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. ist der Sohn von Countrysänger Rhett Akins. Erst auf der High School beschloss er, seinem Vater nachzufolgen und Countrymusiker zu werden. Er unterschrieb einen Vertrag mit EMI und schrieb erst einmal Songs für andere Musiker wie Jason Aldean, bevor er 2012 seine Debütsingle veröffentlichte.
