The geographical overlap is far outweighed by the the absolutely enormous chronological gulf between the groups you’re talking about. By the timescale relevant to the formation and breakup of Indo-European, “Ancient North Eurasian” is not an extant population, it’s an ancestry component of other groups.

The recent Lazaridis paper suggests the opposite, that the spread of the Kura-Araxes culture, and whatever languages they spoke (possibly including Hurro-Urartean, but this is speculative) broke the previous geographic link between Anatolian and the rest of the Indo-European languages (including the ancestor of Punjabi).
