Notes. Martin Gore explained in the May 2003 issue of D-Side magazine (translated from French): "Basically, it's a song that goes back to my youth. I was never a big fan of David Essex, but I loved some of his songs, especially 'Stardust' which is probably my favourite, and which is about the decline of a rock star and his drug addiction.
