März 1998 · With Russell Senior - ex-deputy leader of sorts - now departed, bassist Steve Mackey, Pulp's technophile, might have added a few more loops and fuzzy textures, as on Seductive Barry, an insinuating club come-down, while Party Hard processes Cocker's voice through a vocoder, resulting in a passable impression of 70s David Bowie. But change should not be overplayed.
