Aug. 2020 · This week, The Hollywood Reporter – which has established itself as the “go to” list for the “Top 25 Film Schools in America” – released their ranking for 2020 and named AFI Conservatory as the nation’s top film school. Under the leadership of Dean Susan Ruskin, AFI has had a major year of awards and endowments.
In 1969, AFI established the AFI Conservatory, a graduate-level program to train narrative filmmakers.The hands-on, learn-by-doing program offers training to future storytellers from a dedicated faculty from the film and television communities, all currently working in the industry, and including masters of the art form.
AFI is based on a Conservatory model which focuses the educational experience in 6 disciplines while maintaining a hands-on production environment.
