25. Dez. 2021 · Elizabeth Garrett-Anderson noticed her health decline in her mid-70s. She retired in 1902 and returned to her childhood home in Aldeburgh with her husband. Skelton died in 1907. Following in her father’s footsteps, a year later Garrett-Anderson was elected Mayor of Aldeburgh, becoming the first female mayor in England. She died in 1917.
