  1. 8. Feb. 2019 · Fitzwilliam’s 200-year architectural journey is an ongoing one, with over six architects designing various aspects of the college. The original buildings were designed in 1960 by Denys Lasdun, whose vision of Fitzwilliam College remains present to this day. Each building changes as you follow the spiral around the courts

  2. Located on a 7-acre site stretching between Storey’s Way and Huntingdon Road, Fitzwilliam College is a 10-minute walk from the river at Magdalene Bridge in the centre of Cambridge. It is easily accessible from Junction 13 of the M11 and Junction 32 of the A14, as well as other major road routes.

  3. The Grove is Fitzwilliam’s central feature. Built in 1813 its architecture contrasts harmoniously with the more modern buildings surrounding it. Originally the home of the architect who built it, it was later the home of Charles Darwin’s widow Emma, who was born into the prestigious porcelain manufacturing family Wedgewood.
