Janet Munro fu sposata con Tony Wright dal 1957 al 1959. Nel 1963 sposò l'attore Ian Hendry, dal quale ebbe due figli, Sally e Corrie. The children's nannie, Elizabeth McGuiness, tried to reanimate her but she died on the way to hospital. Munro died from a heart attack caused by chronic ischaemic heart disease.
