The Boxer is possibly Daniel Day-Lewis’ worst film, but I’m not about to sort through any other potential bottom titles to be sure of that. Day-Lewis is greatness incarnate, but in Jim Sheridan’s IRA exposé drama, he has to reel himself in and rid the theatrics to underplay ex-con Danny Flynn who has his scrapes adjustin’ to the aught-side (I mean, “outside”).
